Can someone please give me in detail step-by-step instructions to restart the MySQL server?

The database server details for MYSQL that I acquired from the phpMyAdmin UI are as follows:

If your mySQL service is named something else like mysqld you may have to change the command accordingly or try this: restart mysql sudo /etc/init.d/mysql

sudo service mysql stop;
sudo service mysql start;

If the preceding procedure does not work, use the code provided above to stop and restart the MySQL server.
