Problem
I’d like to convert a C# DateTime to the format “YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.” But I can’t seem to discover a built-in way for obtaining this format? Any thoughts?

You’ve essentially written your own format.
yourdate.ToString(“yyyyMMddHHmmss”)

Just remember to distinguish between months (MM) and minutes (mm):
DateTime dt = DateTime.Now; // Or whatever
string s = dt.ToString("yyyyMMddHHmmss");
(Also note that HH is 24 hour clock, whereas hh would be 12 hour clock, usually in conjunction with t or tt for the am/pm designator.)
You’d use: if you wanted to accomplish this as part of a composite format string.
string s = string.Format("The date/time is: {0:yyyyMMddHHmmss}", dt);

A custom format string can be used:
DateTime d = DateTime.Now;
string dateString = d.ToString("yyyyMMddHHmmss");
If you don’t want 24-hour clock time, substitute “hh” for “HH.”
